Welcome to acmfriends

Dear acmfriends and supporters

Season's greetings to all! I hope that 2009 has been a fruitful year for each of you and you have enjoyed being an acmfriend.

As we move into a new year, ACM is planning more interesting events to promote a deeper understanding of Asian civilisations. They include an Ikebana demonstration and talk, an appreciation talk and performance on the traditional Nanyin music and a lecture by our special invited guest speaker from the National Palace Museum, Taipei. Do stay tuned to our website for the latest update.

Don't miss our current exhibition at the Shaw Foundation Foyer, ACM, The Egawa Donation: A Collection of Japanese and Chinese-inspired Ceramics. At The Peranakan Museum, a new exhibition on the famous Ramayana epic, Ramayana Revisited: A Tale of Love and Adventure, will be on view from 22 January.

Do also look out for another exciting new exhibition that will be opening on 12 February 2010 - Treasury of the World: Jewelled Arts of India in the Age of the Mughals, showcasing the famous Mughal jewellery collection from the al-Sabah collection from Kuwait.

Wishing you a happy and prosperous New Year!
